Procedures and Principles to be Followed about the Request for International Notification and Interrogation

The Communique Concerning the Procedures and Principles to be Followed about the Request for International Notification and Interrogation has been published 

            The Communiqué Concerning the Procedures and Principles to be Followed about the Request for International Notification and Interrogation (“Communiqué”) has been published on 32050 numbered Official Gazette on December 21, 2022. The purpose of the Communiqué is to determine the expenses to be paid in international notification and requests for interrogation, also the notification procedures and expenses are regulated separately for each country.
 
            Article 39/3 of the Regulation on the Execution of the Notification Code dated 25 January 2012 stipulates that the cost of the notifications to be sent abroad shall be determined separately for each country for each calendar year by the Ministry of Justice in consultation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by taking into consideration the international agreements on notification matters and the principles of mutuality. This Communiqué has been prepared based on the mentioned article.
 
            The fees required for the delivery of notifications to Turkish citizens in foreign countries through the political representation organised under Article 25/A of the Notification Code are specifically regulated in the Regulation. According to Article 6 of the Regulation, the Ministry or foreign representative offices will be charged a postal fee of TRY 120 for the TRNC and TRY 200 for other countries for each notification or request for interrogation.
 
            The fees required by foreign authorities, except for the notification or requests for interrogation made through political representatives, are regulated separately for both notification and interrogation. The costs of the service of summons and notification, which differ according to the countries, are as follows:



This Communiqué shall be executed by the Ministry of Justice and shall enter into force on January 1, 2023.
